At the Roundswell
roundabout, (two miles), turn left on the B3232 towards Newton
Tracey and Torrington. This is a hilly and narrow road to start
with, be prepared to slow down or stop for large vehicles on the
wrong side of the road at bends, particularly through St. John’s
Chapel and Newton Tracey.
|
- After about four miles, at
Alverdiscott, turn right at the crossroads on the hill before
the church towards Stony Cross.
|
- In Stony Cross, take the unnamed
lane between the two cottages (Cherry and Bartridge) on the
outside of the left-hand bend immediately after Boundary Park.
(This is effectively facing you as you approach). Pass the phone
box and the cottages, and follow this over the hill for about
600 yards and Bulworthy Cottage is the first house reached.
Parking is available on the tarmac track on the left immediately
after the cottage, call at the door by the buttress.
